Quoted: Yes, the GMT complication has always fascinated me as well. The credit for the invention goes to Rolex, who created the function in 1954 at the request of Pan Am who needed it for their trans-Atlantic crews. (MeatPopsicle's GMT-Master is a previous reference version of mine, and more closely resembles the original in design.) I set all my 24hr hands on my GMT watches to my home time zone, and they remain set there. When arriving in another time zone, I use the jump hour (an absolutely excellent feature) to move just the regular hour hand to the new time zone. So I have local time at a glance, and time back home on the 24hr "GMT" hand. Some use the function differently. They set their 24hr "GMT" hand to another zone, so they can easily see what time it is at their kid's who lives far away, or what time it is at their business client in London, Rome, Tokyo... Or of course, set the 24hr hand to military Zulu/UTC. View Quote Mine go on Zulu, I rarely travel. |

Back in the "ol days" when I worked in an office I wore my Seiko SARB033 daily.
Now that I'm currently working from home I rock a quartz Carnival T25 field watch. It's the cheapest analog watch with tritium I could find. Picked up a SARB017 Alpinist over the holidays, that'll be my new daily wear if I ever need to start going into the office again. |

I like to wear a watch for a few days then switch it up so it’s hard to say I have a true daily.
The most wrist time probably goes to an Orient Mako II on a strapcode bracelet or a Citizen Promaster Diver. Both blue dials. I did just order a Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical though after borrowing a friends and I have a feeling I will not take it off for quite sometime. It’s funny how tastes change over time. I went through a chronograph phase a few years ago, then a diver phase and apparently I’m starting a field watch phase now. I also have a guilty obsession with digital watches. I just can’t stop buying cheap Casios and wear them frequently. I sometimes envy people who are one or two watch type people. There’s something nice about that. |

They have quality control unheard of at that price point and it's a certified/tested diver, every single watch is tested. https://i.imgur.com/4BjjChEl.jpg My everyday for the past few months. View Quote I have the older Titanium DS Action Diver... and a few Mido watches and a few Hamiltons. The Certina is my favorite of the bunch. They're all great value brands in the Omega umbrella. Hamilton is the entry brand they've chosen to market in the US. Mido and Certina are the 'entry level' brands elsewhere in the world.... they really don't advertise or market either of them here. Only problem I've ever had with Certina or Mido is finding 'factory' service in the US. Had to send a Mido is Israel for service when it needed some factory parts unavailable in the states. |
