I have a fairly new 18650 Efest 30a battery that had the wrap tear off while taking it out of a battery case. The missing wrap is on the positive end and is a perfect circle around the positive post, but doesn't go down the side of said battery.

I read somewhere that this can cause the battery to short in some circumstances and was thinking about re wrapping it or tossing it.

Has anyone re wrapped a battery before, is it worth the trouble?

I've never done it but if I had to I'd just head to Home Depot and get some heat shrink. It doesn't take much heat to shrink so the battery should be fine. Just use a hair dryer or something.

Home depot heat shrink it going to be way too thick for battery, need some thin "battery" shrink from ebay or a hobby shop (think Radio controlled stuff)

Tape. Packing tape, scotch tape, electrical tape. Most any kind of tape.

Thanks for the suggestions! I have some shrink tubing at work, I think it will work if I stretch it and get it thin enough. Shouldn't be a problem on thickness, plenty of room in the ol  ipv2.

Spend a buck and do it right.
