Well....plus the $200 for a fluke meter and a quarter for 2 alligator clips.  Piece of wood that my 3 year old brad nailed to the barn and drew on it with pencil.

The 510 is a mad vapes prewired that I bought for my first box mod, but decided not to use because it felt cheap.  Perfect for this though.  $2.99.

I figured....Why have a sophisticated piece of electrical analysis equipment and use some cheap chinese ohm reader because it has the convenience of a 510 connector?

This also doubles as a tester for my box mods that I build.  I can breadboard a chip up with resistors and capacitors and actually vape it or leave my inline voltage meter in it to see instant results.

FYI:  Add a 3 Amp / 0-30V constant current supply to be switched in to burn off your coils without stressing your batteries.  I run about 2.3 amps and they glow quickly and brightly without blowing out like a light bulb.

I was wanting to make essentially what you did, I already have lab adjustable power supplies with CC or CV modes, but I never found cheap 510 connectors.  Was thinking it'd be a great build/test fixture, using a DPDT switch to flip between ESR Meter and Power Supply.

Well crap. Some of you guys are getting as bad as the mouse. Off to spend more money.
And I have an idea to get rid of the alligator clips.

I was going to use a crimped battery contact so it would slide in and be hands free. It worked fine with my meter probes but my breadboard jumpers wouldn't stay in it. So I went with the clips.

Non slip tape or suction cups on the bottom would be nice for coil building. I put mine on my router mat.

Good stuff, but my lowes only carries crocodile clips lol. I am playing great idea, and buckeye ingenuity. I think I am gonna buy a bunch of 510 adapters or conectors so I can make my own rda and rba holders. Also what model of fluke do you have or use most I am useing a cheap mastech it is ok but has interference issues?

I have 3 meters. A Fluke 36, a Fieldpiece SC77 and cheap Velleman DVM850. I service HVAC equipment, so I use the fieldpiece meter most of the time because it has HVAC specific functions. The fluke is my bench meter, and the Velleman is my throw around. To be honest, for 75% of the work that I do, I could use any of them. I believe the fluke to be most accurate on resistance and current measurements. Voltage measurements seem to be consistent between the 3.  But the work that I do with them doesn't require extreme accuracy.

If you have a Harbor Freight nearby, they sell an alligator clip jumper wire set. I believe it's $3 for 10 of them.
