not really "grooming", but maybe some help can be found here

Looking for nice sheets--- seems the wife gets the cheap ass plastic shit  .

as strange as it sounds, many hotels I have been in have thicker, smoother sheets-- almost pressed-- very comfy

I don't know if its thread count or what---not that the ones I like are not super smooth/shiny like that, but a simple white

part duce

mattress topper-- I have a sleep number bed-- decent enough, but seems like I am sleeping on plastic---heat/sweat seems to accumulate/reflect--looking for a nice topper that helps cool---not overly soft/thick, but cooling and washable.

thoughts?

We got a set of those Boll and Branch you see/hear advertised all the time.  They are pretty nice for the $ honestly.

I bought a set of fitted bamboo sheets from a vendor at the USAF base BX.  $40 and the nicest sheets I've slept on.

Got a set of microfiber sheets from Bed In a Box when we got our mattress. Love 'em.

Pima cotton sheets (better cotton than Egyptian), with a thread count of 300-500. No need for insane thread counts of 700+. I've had good luck with Charter Club and Hotel Collection from Macy's. Good news is they regularly go on sale for massive discounts, especially around the holidays. You can order online, but better to check em out in the store where you can feel them.

For a mattress topper, either a down featherbed or a memory foam topper, pick your poison. I prefer down. Although I just saw a Tempur-Pedic Supreme Memory Foam 3" topper in BBB tonight that looked and felt pretty nice.

The cotton flannel sheets that Costco has are great, and not expensive. It's Portuguese flannel. They should be in stock now, or pretty soon.

Funny to say, but some of my best sheets are the Pima cotton Kirkland brand from Costco.
Not cheap, but worth every penny!

If you can find a place like "Tuesday Morning" near you, they often have really high count, cotton sheets are very good prices.  Sheets with 600-1000 thread count for about a third of retail prices.  When king sheet sets can retail at over $200 a set, paying $70 for an 800 thread count set is a great deal.  Get 100% cotton.

Good advice. I checked there and found some 100% pima cotton sheets as soft as any luxury sheet I’ve felt for $60.

They also had some nice 100% down comforters for $130-$200.
