1 gallon glass carboy, a gallon of Welch's white grape juice, a packet of L 47 yeast, some yeast nutrient, and a big mound of sugar. I sanitized everything, and airlocked it. One day later it's bubbling furiously, at least 2 bubbles per second.

I'm starting my first batch of beer this week.

Racked it for secondary fermentation. Quite a bit of yeast sediment, but I managed to separate it out. However, it seems that all activity has ceased. No bubbles in the airlock, about 3 hours after I racked it. I think I will be bottling soon.

Secondary fermentation is really about clarifying and flavor developement. If it was going that fast initially there's likely very little sugar left. You might get occasional bubbles here and there but that's it. How does it taste? That should be your determinant for bottling. Also, don't forget to use something to halt fermentation unless your sg is 1.0 or less.
