Mead is pretty easy to make and can be really delicious. It's not technically brewing so much as it is mixing and fermenting. Anyway, give this "protocol" a try - great for beginners as you don't have to wait as long and the results are good.
Bray's One Month Mead http://www.homebrewtalk.com/showthread.php?t=429241 The new protocol is listed on the second to last page: Also, I have a new nutrient schedule for the BOMM. For the original recipe gravity of 1.100, you add the following: 1. At must creation, add 0.25 tsp K2CO3, 0.4 tsp Fermaid K, 0.4 tsp Fermaid O per gallon. 2. At 1.076 and 1.046 gravity, add 0.4 tsp Fermaid O per gallon. The great thing about the BOMM method is you can have good, drinkable mead in one month. Other methods can take 6-12 months or more! |
