Such a beautiful weekend down here on the Redneck Riviera, I figured I'd ruin it by stressing out at a BBQ competition. But at least we looked like we knew what we were doing.

KCBS competition in Pensacola. Pro division so all four meats: chicken, ribs, pork, brisket. We failed miserably but had an interesting time doing it

I think the Grand Champion was on a gravity fed system (Deep South Smokers, Stumps, etc) but I could be wrong. I don't think the pellet's are banned but then again I haven't paid much attention to the KCBS rules concerning cookers.

One thing I was seeing more and more of, both in this competition as well as a Sam's Club BBQ Tour Event that I was a judge at, is the drum smokers. Becoming popular on the circuit.
