I'm still a relatively new Master Mason and have been looking for ways to learn more about Masonry.

I've come across a couple of resources that I've found useful and thought I would share them with my brothers and other interested parties.

First, I really like Chis Hodapp's book Free Masonry For Dummies.

His book goes over a lot of the basics of the blue lodge and appendant bodies -- including a lot of things that I haven't learned in the lodge.

The Scottish Rite'sMaster Craftsman III Correspondence Course is also a very good resource to learn more about the history of the blue lodge.

It is not specific to the Scottish Rite and includes a copy of Albert Pike's Esoterika and seven quizzes.  For each quiz, you read about an aspect of Masonic history and then complete a multiple choice and short essay quiz.  You mail your quiz in and it comes back with corrections and the next quiz.  I've enjoyed going through the material and learning more about the lodge.  The correspondence course format makes it less of a dry academic read and I find myself reading the material in more detail than I would if I were just going through the book on my own.

HTH!

Welcome Brother!

IMO, the best way to learn is to go to Lodge and pay attention.  Learn a part and become involved in degree work.
