| How long did it take to learn? I'm having a hell of a time trying to memorize a 20 min speech. |

We have one guy in our lodge that has been doing it for years. No one else is willing to learn it, including me. Lazy I know. We have to if we want to be Master. Every officer learns it eventually. Sounds like no-one knew it, so they made it manditory. Not a bad Idea when you think of it.. Just hard. |

We had one card holder and he died so now we have/had no card holders. I used to know all 3 degrees and the Jr stations. However I stutter and am not the best person to learn it from. |

Two months for me spending a couple hours a night when the kids were in bed. Just focus on the next sentence and not how much is left it helps.
If you think it's to much just consider how many songs you know the words to, the old brain can store a lot just takes some of us longer to load it. |

I currently do the MC for our Lodge. Don't remember how long it took originally, but it usually takes me about two weeks to pick up a lecture. I work on it in the car on the way to work. I usually just memorize a line at a time, adding the next line only when everything before it is solid. That process has worked well for me over the years. Another "trick" I employ is to use acronyms for rough spots I encounter. As an example, if I have a problem remembering the order of "order, peace, harmony" I'll just remember OPH.
I'm not sure about other states, but here in Illinois the MC lecture is not twenty minutes long. While I have never timed it, my guess is it is closer to about twelve minutes. Are you required to do the MC and Charge together? |

I'll be on my hunting trip while somone else does it. I'll have to do it next cycle. |
