I just wanted to drop in and say hello. Some of you know me and I'm sure most of you don't. I have looked in here only once. I recognize several of you from the SF section.
I just got the call from the Lodge. I put in my application a few months ago, had a few meetings with some members, my interview and was voted in. Im pretty nervous as to what is to come. I only know one Mason fairly well and several others I know from church, but nobody has really gotten into the details, other than "you will like it".... anyway, here i come. |

congrats on your acceptance.
The only things you will need to remember is: Do what you are ask to do and follow your leader and fear no danger. Remember there are literally thousands upon thousands of men who have gone before you on this same journey.. Always travel East... |

Welcome! Just sit back ,relax, and pay close attention. This will only happen once. Eddie ^This After you get your EA, you can sit in an EA lodge and watch the next guy get his - hopefully soon. That will help you understand it and will help with your memory work. |

There will be four guys getting the EA that night. Im hoping I will be first. Should I ask? They may ask who wants to go first if not ask to go first. Yes, go first or second, but not last. This will give you the opportunity to see the degree "unencumbered". It's gonna be a long night with 4 in a row. Maybe they will do the lecture as a group. |

I'm not sure. I hope they dont have dinner sometime during that timeframe. They said the normaly have dinner before the regular meetings. This is not a regular meeting day. I guess I will see. BTW, I start my work shift at 5:30AM. I want to be a part of the Masons, but for me it's gonna take some time to get used to staying up later than normal. |

Thank you all for your advise and words of encouragement. My EA went very smooth and I really enjoyed it. Thank you Rustee for the messages, you really helped me keep my nerves at ease. My 2 sponsors showed up and it was nice knowing they were there. I asked to go first as suggested, but they had a order set up already so a father could be with his son and his other son, could give the lecture. I went 3rd, so i understand now what happened. |

Quoted: A fast mover Eh? Honestly Mike the whole degree only took about 15 minutes less time than the 1st degree and that was four men recieving it and one lecture at the end. Followed by coffee and cake at 9:45 PM This whole experience has been very rewarding. |

I have a little announcement to make, so I figured I'll post it in my own thread. Last night I was appointed to Junior Master of Ceremonies and sat in my first meeting as a MM too. Some lodges dont have this position so, here is a definition: The offices of 'Senior and Junior Masters of Ceremony' appear in some jurisdictions. Their primary duty is to prepare candidates prior to each of the three degrees. They also help conduct the candidates during the degree conferrals. The Masters of Ceremony are responsible for answering alarms at the preparing room, examination room or outer doors. |
