<<< DISCLAIMER: This is my PERSONAL opinion. >>> Short term, and needed right now is that everyone should make sure that anyone that cares about the right to keep and bear arms in this country should join the NRA, donate, and make sure to sign up as many new people as possible. In addition to the money needed to fight for our rights, the number of members is key. An organization with 3 million members does not carry as much weight as one 6 million, or 9 million or 30 million, etc. If each of us can sign up at least one new member this year (spouse, kids, friends), our influence will continue to grow. Join as many other organizations as you want, but make sure the NRA is first. United [under the NRA] we stand... enough of that. In addition, take the time to write to your representatives in government. Take an active role in ensuring that those that represent you know how you feel and the issues that are important to you, and how they should vote on local, state, and federal bills. Long term, the solution is to instill the shooting sports in our nation's youth. This means educating our children, as well as allowing them to participate in fun firearms usage. Take your kids to the range, and have them invite friends. Volunteer your time to help a local shooting club, 4H group, or boy scouts troop and introduce them to safe and fun shooting. Take the opportunity to explain why firearms ownership by private individuals is what formed this nation, and what ensures that we never fall victim to the oppression that other countries are subjected to. The march described above is great, but if everyone that planned to be there used the money to sign up a few more NRA members and the time to contact their government representatives, I believe the influence would be significantly greater. If after doing all that, you still want to march, then by all means do so; just don't expect it to replace the first part. <<< END DISCLAIMER >>> |

again, right on - sometimes we forget this, but it's very important indeed - bring a friend, co-worker, or family out.

But don't underestimate the collective power/influence of the march - plus it would be good to meet like-minded patriots in your own state or other states.

One thing we can do is defund the left only do business with business that support the 2nd amendment. See if they belong to the NRA business alliance.
We will donate 5% of all sales to the NRA from http://meridenanimal.com/ do not use any of the web pages or business that support the left. |

Everybody needs to join together in one large organization. That organization is the NRA. Plain and simple. What blows my mind is how people spend $100s and $1000s of dollars on ammo and firearms but they can't spend $25 and join the NRA! WTF!!! There is power in numbers. The NRA needs as many members as possible. If every gun owner in this county was a NRA member then there would not be any chance in hell that gun rights could ever be restricted or taken away. Nothing against this march. I think it is a great idea and I will definitely go but people need to join together as well. Buy NRA memberships for friends and family. I gave 3 NRA memberships as gifts for Christmas last year. Heck even people you know here on AR15.com that do not have memberships. Several weeks ago I posted in the "General Discussion" about an NRA membership give away. Details here: Free NRA Membership. I am not trying to brag, I just hope this encourages and gives ideas to others to get more involved. Make it a point to give a NRA membership or donate X amount of money to the NRA every time you buy a new firearm or buy ammo. Stay motivated and activity. Together we can make a difference. |

Horrible, horrible idea.
Unless there is a significant, notable turnout (talking 500k++) it will be painted in the media as a failure. New clips will focus in on the goobers that show up in tacticool gear, rebel flags, drinking beers, etc... SOMEONE will not listen and bring their gun(s), and end up getting arrested, also on TV. I really cannot imagine a better way to do serious damage to our image than this. |
| I think it is a good idea. The more people the better. Not supporting it simply because you are afraid of how the leftist media will spin it is just plain cowardly. It is about time that the left realizes that gun rights are a much more important issue to us than gun control is to them. I would say most of us are willing to die for our freedoms, more than likely they are not willing to die for their attempts to inhibit other peoples freedoms. |

I agree, it is time to put the pressure on the antis. Even if their Messiah is in office, he will want to remain there and will not take up actions that defeat his majority in Congress. People marching for a cause is as American as can be and can have an impact on his thought process. |

Throwing money to the NRA GOA or other group is great however, SOOOOOOO many sheep have no idea how many people ARE gun owners and KNOW what the 2A means . They may see numbers in some article somewhere but if they don't SEE the people and not the boogie men that the brady bunch and the MSM portray, they just think that only criminals and freaks have GUNS .
THOUSANDS of folks made it to the NRA convention and the Shot Show so Something this important is not just a go and DROOL over new gear Event . This is a DUTY that gun owners should make every effort to be part of ! YOU HAVE THE 1A to voice your concern for the 2A ! YOU ARE THE MILITIA of this Country and you must PEACABLY ASSEMBLE in order to prevent the possibility of an CONFLICT that would surely not end well . Over 3 million people have bought guns in the last 3 months in fear of what may come . If this is promoted aggressively enough obamas inauguration will look like a day at the park . If ACORN can bus people in so can we ! I'll fucking walk if I have to ! I would add that everyone pack enough to keep from spending even 1 dime in the Washington area . Spend your money in your local area and bring it with you . The only way to defeat a socialist is to cut off his money supply . This administration will see none of my money without a fight . You win wars by show of force not by sitting at home in your hopeless little bunker tossing out words or pennies . Get your ass in the fight or live by the rules someone else imposes on you . The rattle snake will warn you but if you persist he will strike ! |
| I can imagine some "goober" or a libtard plant, firing off a round or burst and really giving the media an orgasm. I can also see rebel battle flags and swastikas on the field. They have as much right as anyone to march for their 2A right but the media ............. |
