I just got a new pup, he's about 16 weeks old, and after a few days my wife has noticed something she thought was strange. When we come out of our dimly lit hallway to the living room, he raises his hackles and barks and growls at us, until we get closer and in the light. And just now, outside at dusk,we tested him and he seemed that after he lost sight of you, when you re-approached him, it's like he honestly didn't see us, and began to bark and growl, until we either say something or get within, say 6-10 feet, then you almost see a light go off in his head and his behavior changes. Is this a normal thing for a pup his age? Or does it sound like he may have some kind of eyesight problem? |

We got our black lab / Sheppard mix at 8 weeks old and she never acted like this I think I would take him to a good vet and have him checked good , it could be a infection that could lead to something worse . then again it may not be anything but weak mussels at it's age .

Wifey Took him to the vet who said his eyes are dilating normally, and if there is an issue at night there isn't much that can be done. His attitude at night could be nervousness since he's still adjusting to his new home I guess. Also found out he's GSD and Rott. And damn, this one smart pup. |
