Anyone else bother with these lil guys? We have had this guy, his name is Green, for over 2 yrs now. All others have died, we think he kills the others.

When we got him he was in a tiny green shell, he just changed into this green shell the other day so he can finall be GREEN again.

But then he changed shells again yesterday.

Pretty boring pets but kind of cool when you have them for a while and they start to get bigger.

I was careless while handling a big one as a kid.  I learned the hard way that those little pinchers can display a lot of crushing power.

LOL Oh No! Green has never pinched us, we have had him since he was so little I think he is cool with us. I have seen some huge ones though at the pet store that I would think twice about picking up with out gloves or something. I am curious to see how long we will have him and how big he will get. 2 yrs is already the longest we have had one. After him I think we are done with them anyhow.

I had one in my college dorm named Contemptus Mundi. Left him over Christmas break and didn't realize they were turning off the heat. He froze.

I had one that I thought was dead, but was just "molting" it's skin. I flushed him before I knew better.

Oh no! The hermit crab, Green, I just posted a pic of did the same thing. When we first had him we thought he was dead but my husband couldn't get him out of the shell (almost flushed him) so he left him in the cage. I didn't know and all of a sudden was like OMG Green is alive LOL.
