my male cat Loki was acting - off.... we took him to the emergency vet and it turns out his urethra is blocked.... Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease.
almost $2k later he's back home - I'm not sure he's going to pull through but they got him unblocked on the second try - we couldn't drop the money to keep him in there for 96 hours like they wanted. The next step is surgery to remove the end of the penis and widen the urethra... anyone have any experience with this stuff - I don't think we'll be able to drop the money for that either so we're probably looking at just hoping for the best... 4 years just isn't long enough with a good cat.... when I left for work he was barely moving, working off the drugs they had him on at the vet....

Oh man, good luck!
My wife's little chihuahua has something going on in his sinuses. He had a CAT Scan (har har, I know) and had to go under a couple times. That was like $4K. He's still snuffling and sneezing excessively, but doesn't seem to be unable to breath, which was happening before. It was very scary. (This reminds me, I need to look into pet insurance for stuff like this. My Lab is getting up there, she's 11 right now.) |
