| So I'll keep it short and sweet. I use to love pitbulls 50k worth but unfotunately now I am dogless and surrounded by cats. What is a good dog for me that will not try to harm the cats I'm surrounded by I dang sure know that a pedigreed pitbull is out of question. I'm mainly looking for 1 that gets along with other animals house trains easily. Not hard head like a bulldog would be nice too lol. Just look for opinions |

I cant do the pound thing we have a kill pound and id get them all Call the pound and tell them you want a dog that gets along with cats. They even have them that are already housetrained! The people who work there usually know the dogs pretty well. Tell them what you are looking for and they'll bend over backwards to get a dog in a good home. |

There are usually all sorts of breed rescue agencies all over the country. My first recommendation is go to the humane society, or pound's web site and look for a dog there. If you are set on a pure breed, try one of the rescue sites.
We got our last dog from death row at the humane society. He has turned into a wonderful addition to my two Border Collies. Although he was really sick when we got him, he has turned around, and is healthy with a glorious coat. He weighted 5 pounds 2 ounces when adopted, and you could count his ribs and vertebrae by running your finger along the bones because he was so sick and just wanted to die.. Now he weighs 8 pounds 7 ounces, and is doing fabulous. He is worth every penny we paid for all the surgery and adoption fees. I highly recommend you consider saving someone's (some dog's) life. |

For example, my Anatolian won't let a stranger anywhere near my lady without proper introduction.. Its apparent that dog hates the cat and is attempting to kill it by sitting on it! |

How's he healing up? Very well, slowly getting the muscles in his leg to be the same as the other, but he's able to go on long walks and short runs with me Best money I've ever spent... Well, not the best, but most rewarding. |
