I'm not a Glocker, but the wife unit has been interested in getting a G26.

Was just wondering whether this lives up to its hype, or if arfcommers had an alternate recommendation.

The Complete Glock Reference Guide

This book is jam packed with more than 300 pages and over 450 black and white/color photos. Subjects cover the complete range of Glock history, assembly/disassembly, maintenance, customization, parts interchangeability, and evertyhing else you ever wanted or needed to know about your Glock handgun.

Hmm, what are you looking to get out of the book?  I haven't read that one, but I suspect that unless you or her is very interested in the history and inner workings, it won't be very entertaining.  Glockmeister has quite a few photo tutorials of maintenance and part change procedures, and the tech forums here or Glocktalk would cover the rest.  It's a pretty simple pistol unless you get deep into it.

I don't know.  I imagine it'd be a lot like our car, with me more interested in the inner workings, and her just wanting to know how to put gas in it and drive.

Thanks for the link to Glockmeister, though.  I hadn't heard of that.  I've been a member of GT for years, but haven't posted in almost as many.
