Damn. Just saw this.
I bumped into him a few times at the range where we were both members. Usually chomping on a big cigar, IIRC. |
My friends say I should act my age, what's my age again?
|
Damn that sucks.
He did my trust way back in the day. |
|
|
Damn, not Vader...
Rest In Peace |

I hate to say it, but heart attack while driving and wrecked out, there's worse ways to go. I'm sure he would rather have been smoking a cigar and drinking with some gal riding him while shooting some class 3 toys, but it was a quick exit. He'll be missed around here.

I met Sean many years ago at a training event Chris Lucci hosted at Wild River Ranch. We hit it off immediately, he loved cigars and so did I. He loved using NVG's, so did I. He loved being outdoors and hunting anytime he could, so did I. He loved watches, so did I. He loved nothing more than being with friends and family to simply sit, chat and laugh and so did I.
He and I just spoke a few weeks before his passing, now I'm at a loss. |

We were aware he’d probably been in an accident since he was only about 30 minutes away when he stopped responding to calls and texts. The local hospitals were helpful and I also had lots of cooperation and concern from the Victoria county sheriffs department and DPS in finding out the details of the accident. Thanks guys for your help... Sean and I tested tons of gear at the ranch over the last 15 years and he turned me on to some of the coolest stuff I’ve ever seen or used. He had a tremendous number of friends and clients for whom he would always bend over backward to help. Thankfully, no one else in the family was with him. He will be sorely missed... View Quote Vic |

Sean really got me into shooting and always hooked me up with good advice, pointed me towards good deals, let me hitch rides out to the range, pretty much made me shoot guns I liked but didn't have the money for, hosted awesome Houston Crew Christmas parties, and even gave me a ride to the impound lot when my car got towed from his place because I couldn't follow simple directions
Even 10 years after I saw him last he would hit me up every so often to see how things in my career and life were going. Sean is going to be sorely missed |

I am sorry for the loss to his family and friends. Saw him often at the Leona mg shoots.

Can we raise some coin for watches and cigars on behalf?
Approval needed somebody... Go. |

A good friend for 15 years. Very surreal what's going on. Have had a hard time processing all this. He was way too young to go.

I met Sean in 1998 when we both worked for State Farm. I had just gotten married and moved to Houston. I already worked for the Farm in DFW and got a transfer to Houston so I could get married.
Sean was already an attorney, but he wanted to learn the auto adjuster's side of things. I remember he had to have a Dr. Pepper and a donut every morning. Anyway, after a few months I moved on to a different position and we lost touch. Fast forward to the Darth Vader incident. I was living in St. Louis and read about it here. It sounded an aweful lot like my friend Sean Cody and so I messaged SC-Texas. Yup, it was my friend. Moved back to Houston. Re-connected. We had talked earlier this summer about re-doing my trust. It didn't matter how often or how little you visited with Sean, he always made you feel like you hadn't missed a minute. That is a rare quality. And it is a rare thing when the kind things said about a person are true. Sean, you will be missed more than you could have ever known. |

RIP...my brother. Prayers for the family and all his friends. God speed home.

In any event, we will have a good supply of intoxicants to assuage any angling anxiety that might manifest itself.

What a loss to our community. Sean is a fantastic individual, 2A attorney and RKBA advocate. Sean did an excellent job on my Trust years ago, and I thoroughly enjoyed every opportunity I had to speak with him.
Prayers and condolences to Sean's wife, family and friends. GOD's Speed Sean... |

Truly one of a kind taken way too soon !
I sent him several copies he requested of the early gun test magazines (not the recent white ones) and he not only wanted to reimburse me but sent them back with copies of all the pages ! This was in 2003 and the correspondence is still in my messenger box. |

Shocked to read this. RIP.

Shit, just noticed this thread. He did my trust back in 2007. He was fun to talk gun stuff with, and always quick to get back to me on NFA/trust questions. I loved seeing the photos and stories he shared on Facebook.
I once paid him in PRI 6.8 magazines for some work he did for me. He was cool like that. Godspeed, Sean. |

He did my original trust several years ago, and just helped me amend it, this past year. Sad to hear of his untimely passing.
