www.myspace.com/virginsnatch This kind of music usually isn't my thing but their last album fucking OWNS. |

They definitely have potential, sadly they're down tuning their guitars so hard and are playing through so much gain in their Mesa Boogies, it makes it incapable of listening to. The vocals are very metal core. And the guitar solo is worse than what Kerry King does. |
You know, most people run multiple power amps and preamps. He's probably running a JCM 800 with a Mesa |
Maybe so. But I would bet that Kerry King makes more money and gets more fans playing what HE plays than YOU do playing what YOU play. And you have to admit, at least he has a very unique sound. NOBODY else really plays like him. Some try, but they fail. Now smoke on that, Slayer hater. |
I'm going to go one step further... The Marshalls are eyecandy 'cause every "rock star" has to be on stage with backline filled with Marshalls. (Most of) The fans don't know the difference. I vote some Mesa, 5150, Soldano, or similar amp offstage 'cause there's very little possibility of getting that sound out of the three gain stages of a JCM800 w/o some overdrive pedal magic. |
Nobody plays like him because most other metal guitarists play the guitar the way it was meant to be played. Kerry King has the most convoluted solos I've ever heard. He just hammers on his guitar - it's beyond me how he is proclaimed a great guitarist. And I'm a pretty big Slayer fan - at least from Show No Mercy until Seasons In The Abyss anyways. |
I said once, long long ago, that there's good music, and there's music that I like. They do not have to be the same thing. Kerry King is a great guitarist because his style is unique. The fact that others "play the guitar the way it was meant to be played" only speaks to their lack of creativity, and inability to explore new direction. And they all sound exactly alike. I'm very proud of them. |
Yea, well...The same could be said for C.C. Deville from Poison...so... Just sayin. |
