Not for me!! I started giving lessons!!
I gave my first guitar lesson to an 11 year old kid the other day, and I have to say I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. He was super enthusiastic, listened well, and picked up really quick on my instructions. He's the son of a good friend of mine, and I "volunteered" to help him learn a few songs for his church band. Now, he's a long ways from playing a complete song, but I do admire his determination. He gave me the songs he wanted to learn, and I told him I'd help him get to where he could play 'em all the way through. He said he didn't want to take conventional lessons, and just do scales and chords all the time. Little does he know, that I'm sneaking in some of that stuff in to his studies!! If you would have told me I'd be teaching somebody to play the guitar 20 years ago, I'd have told you, that you were crazy!! |

Where are you in AZ? West Phoenix, Goodyear here. My 13 year old picked up a guitar for his bday. I started drums last year and said it would be cool if we started a band....one day.  I'm way out east, in San Tan Valley. I've been a drummer for years, but get bored, so I also play the guitar, since I'll never be really good at it. I like a challenge. |
