I received some news today that no one likes to get. My primary instructor at the U.S. Army flight school at Fort Rucker was killed today in an accident involving a single TH67 "Bell 206"
Article I will hold off on using his name in a public forum until I am sure his family has been notifie. Some second hand info that I received said that it was most likely a mechanical failure due to the fact that the aircraft suddenly exited the airfield traffic pattern and crashed into a nearby field. Based on the instructors level of experience I find it hard to believe that it was pilot error, but I guess crazier things have happened. This man taught me to fly and it is a great loss to the aviation community. |
