Anyone watched this series? Sounds like it's a BBC/Discovery Channel creation for Wings. But I don't know if it aired here or in the UK only.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_Heavy_Metal I'd like to see it as I'm a big fan of heavy iron AND heavy metal (particularly the host of this show –– Bruce Dickinson of the metal band Iron Maiden). I've always been very impressed with Bruce's accomplishments and endeavors, especially in the aviation field. But I really don't know a lot about his aviation background other than flying B757's for a charter airline. I know that he flew the stranded tourists out of Lebanon, soccor players into and out of Israel, and British soldiers out of Iraq. He also flew the band's chartered 757 on last year's world tour (the plane had the band's skeletal mascot painted on the side). Anyways... I'm curious if anyone knows what planes Bruce owns or interesting planes he might have flown and/or any other aviation related accomplishments. |
