I saw that video a while back. Talk about using every inch of the available runway. DAMN! Wonder what the lenth of the runway is and what speed he rotated at.

EDIT-- You think they call this their version of a short field take off?

Hot, high and heavy? Those IL-76s are designed to operated from rough, short fields.

You ever seen how those things get loaded? Just like bush pilots in Alaska - every inch gets used, stack top to bottom and side to side. I doubt they have any idea how heavy they really are when they takeoff...
