I took a look at the thread of useful links and I didn't see this posted so I thought I would add.

Of course this link does not replace a weather briefing from your local flight service station.

NOAA - Aviation Weather Center

I apologize if it's posted somewhere and I overlooked it.

This is a great site, I use them for our international weather.
For our domestic weather and filing I use www.flightplan.com
They our a QICP (quilified internet service provider) so if you click on the QICP link under the weather tab you will now have a paper trail of your briefing.
For not for hire operations(non-charter) the FAA only requires that you make yourself familure with all availible weather. The QICP just provides a paper trail.
Charter operaters have to have the weather provider(source) listed in their Ops Specs. .

I use the noaa site almost exclusively, has everything.  under the satellite section you can bring up an ir image, use standard lapse rate and get the tops.  usually I can get within 1-2 thousand feet.
