I was just given two old windbreakers that used to belong to my uncle before he was killed while performing at an airshow in Flagstaff in 1978 (if I remember right)

They have some patches on them from various groups, I do not know much about them.

My uncle was Walt Tubb and had a cameo role in the movie Cloud Dancer. He played the judge that dies after not pulling out of an inverted flat spin, which ironically is how he died in real life.

I was only 7 when he died, and only got to see him a couple times a year when he flew into Salt Lake and had a layover. He was an airline pilot, I want to say Airwest? All I remember is the planes were all yellow with blue lettering and logo. He flew B24s in WWII and was part of the Ploesti Oil Raid, referred to as Black Sunday ( if you are not familiar with this, it is worth looking up )

Anyway, I thought I would share them with you guys in case anyone is interested in this sort of thing.  Also a pic of his plane.

First, as someone who has lost more than a dozen friends in flying accident, I feel your pain.

I had one of the red IAC jackets years ago, it was even made of Nomex. Thanks for sharing the photos, I also belonged to the ACA, back in the late '70s.

Thanks for sharing.

I'm building a Pitts right now so I can relate to your uncles passion a bit...
