As a mechanic with flying status back in the early 80's, I got a chance to go on two Red Flag missions aboard B-52G's from Barksdale AFB. One was at night, so not much to see other than my first experience with St. Elmo's fire during the descent, but the daytime mission was awesome. Flying low over the desert in a 450,000 pound aircraft at 350-400 mph while being chased by fighters - well, not much more to say about that  Those were some long missions flying from northwest Louisiana, hitting a tanker on the way out to Nevada, doing low level, then coming back. Usually around 11 to 12 hours. Thanks for the video.

I sure would love to be out between the runways during a launch and during a recovery. Cool to see they even brought the B-2s out. Thought they usually did the RF exercises as out and backs from Whiteman?
