Any advice or general idea of what to expect?
Update: Well, I got more action than my wife did this morning. All good (and a little personal) at the doc. The only thing that came close to trouble was my BP at 140/90 but I've dropped 30lb since June 1 so I expect that to get better. LASIK tomorrow morning so no flying for at least a month, but that will give me plenty of time to chew up the textbooks while the CFI isn't on my dime. |

regs
here is the regs. part 67. any issues in the medical history will either result in an issuance or deferral to the FAA where the process can get lengthy. |

Assuming you have no issues in your medical history that are disqualifying (or require a waiver) a Class III medical exam will generally go like this...
Can you manage to walk into the exam room unassisted? Do you have adequate visual acuity to determine whether the AME is male or female without having to stare? Can you answer a verbal question posed to you without having to make them to repeat it 3 times? And, most importantly... Can you walk out of the office unassisted at least long enough to write a check? I'm only half-joking. |

Valuable information in both of those posts, much appreciated. How long should I expect to be in there? Blood, urine, shitting for distance? Any special exercises? depending on how fast the exam goes, usually 10 min with doc and 10 min with tech and if your doc is good with the paperwork another 5 to get the medical. |
