I used to like going up at night, fly over a twisty river so you can see the reflection of the moon on the water and then turn as needed to keep the moon right in the center of the river.

It would be just like Mark's picture except you would see the reflection of the moon instead of your shadow.
Now that I live in the freakin' desert, I don't get to play that game anymore.

I always thought the Navion was a cool looking plane.  A buddy of mine had one, lost his medical before I had a chance to go for a ride.

And that reminds me of the guys that completely restored the old biplane, then called in the FAA guy to check it off ...

After signing off, he told them to be sure to wash the bugs off the top wing too.

Nah, that's old glue for the velcro that holds our padding/trim in place.  The glue gives out when the jets are in the desert and they just apply more glue on top.  It just builds up until depot.

We used shadows for gunnery practice when I was in.  We would have a high bird above and the gunners in the low bird would practice leading and calling adjustments to the pilots to stay on target.  Some of the best, least whiz bang gadget moving targets out there
