Alrighty,
So here's the deal. For about eight years until 2003 I worked as a Tobacconist. I loved it and smoked a ton of cigars and pipes, deciding on what my tastes were. As for cigars, by and large I like them strong and spicy. As in shave your tongue afterwards kind of spice etc. In 2003 I left so I've been "out of the loop" in regards to what's the latest and greatest, and I hardly smoke anymore, but I do have a coolerdor. I've really come to enjoy the Pepin blends and I've been nursing a box of Habana Leon Toro's for a couple years now. I also have some Tat singles, some El Legendarios, DPG blues, Famous Nic 3000's (from their first batch), a couple boxes of Toranos (which I don't care for). Anywhoo..I've been thinking about picking up some of the 601's (and Padilla Miami for that matter). What are the stronger spicier ones? Any input on the Illusione's as well? Thanks |

601- Maduro Full Bodied Full Flavored... Some may find them spicy, I get more cocoa/espresso out of them
601- Oscuro...Full Bodied, Full flavored...this one exhibits the most spice out of the 601 line 601- Habano- Full & Full....the original release seemed to have more spice, with the latter being full blown leather, with some spiciness mixed in. 601- Connecticut- Medium-Full...these have been hit or miss as far as spice goes..I've founf some very spicy while others weren't at all. All of the 601's range from very very good to out of this world!...IMO I have yet to find any with a poor draw or bad construction and they burn very well. I am an unashamed 601 whore....As an entire line of cigars these are my favorites, and as listed above in that order. Signed, DWFAN (Dark Lord of the 601st Legion)
ETA- Padilla Miami's are not spicy to me at all (albeit a very good stick)...worth picking up. Illusione makes a quality cigar too....I like the cg4 and the mk the best....I wouldn't call it a spicy stick. For other Full/Full spicy sticks I'd look into La Flor Dominicanas Double Ligero line....excellent cigars! |

You know the LaFlors never really did it for me although I haven't tried the double ligeros. I had some Litto Gomez that were quite spicy. The ones I've really enjoyed are the Coronados. I just may pick up a box of the double coronas. I may have to pick up some of the 601's |

In about 10 minutes I'll be lighting up a LFD DL Chisel Maduro Litto Gomez's LGD line is quickly becoming a favorite of mine (especially the Chisel), and I agree that the Coronado is my number one from him too! |

Fired up the Green LaFuerza last night. Very nice smoke. Started off with a great spice kick then settled down to a nice mellow yet flavorful smoke. I was hoping for more sustained spice (like in the first couple puffs), but overall I really enjoyed it.
I think I'll try the red on Tuesday |
