Hi guys.
I had my first Cigar today, a Trinidad(A buddy recommended/bought it for me) It wasn't bad but then again I have nothing to reference it to. Anyways, I need some help. I don't mind smoking cigars, but as a noob I don't know whats good or bad. Can you guys give me some suggestions for the 5-10 dollar range. Preferably something I should be able to find in a small town smoke shop. Also... I had problems keeping the cigar lit, and keeping it burning uniformly, any tips would be more than welcome. Thanks.

For $5-10, Fuente Hemingways (Short Story, Best Seller, etc.) are pretty good. I started smoking cigars with the Hemingways. Sometimes you just can't keep a cigar burning straight. I touch them up a little bit with the torch to even it out when that happens. edited: and welcome to the Humidor, the most civilized corner of Arfcom. |

Uniform burn requires a proper light (assuming no faults in the cigar's construction, storage, etc.). I tend to favor honduran smokes. Can't go wrong w/ a camacho corojo.
DW will be along shortly to sing the praises of the 601 line. Leunken w/ sticks rolled from unobtainium. While Elderboy & Scaryguy will chime in w/ a little bit of everything. All quality smokes. In fact, It would probably be wise to follow those two guy's smoking habits to get a more well rounded list of smokes to try. Best thing is to just start smoking & get some suggestions from the whatcha got lit up now thread! Some of the guys here get kinda monotonous with thier daily smokes though...... |

Unobtainium is used to make airplanes and drills that goes to the center of the earth, not cigars...
