I'm getting married and want to buy a box of cigars to pass out for my groomsmen.

I'm not a cigar person, but enjoy one on special occasions.

What is a good $8-12 cigar (each) that is easy to smoke and won't make the newbs, like me, sick?

Also, brand names are a plus, just because it's a present. Normally, I go for the unknown quality brands that don't have the marketing hype, but not in this case.

Thanks

AVO, Ashton, Fuente, and Padron Natural.  Monticristo White is OKAY, but I generally do not recommend product made by General Cigars, thats is why Macunudo are not included.
As to avoid getting sick, eat before smoking, drink liquid when you smoke, and most importantly, do not inhale.

Montecristo Platinum - Churchill Tube - 15 cigars - $116.95 - comes in a cool keepsake type box.  medium

Montecristo No. 2 Torpedo - 10 cigars - $79.95.  mild-medium

Above are non-Cuban cigars, prices from JR.  www.jrcigars.com

Just a possible or two....

Graycliff or Rocky Patel, generally consistent smokes.  However, the best stick I've ever had was an Aturo Fuente OpusX.

Unless all your friends are cigar guys, buy something cheaper. Like $5 range. Non-cigar people won't know the difference between a good cigar and a great cigar. Half of them probably won't smoke one unless you make it something you're all going to do together.

I'd go with Romeo's in tubes. You can buy them in 10 packs for about $40.

They'll travel well and will be easier to deal with in the rush of things than bare cigars. They're mild-medium but have good flavor and even cigar people won't turn up their noses.

Personally I'd save some money and get some Oliva O's.  Nice medium bodieds smoke, nice classy label, good flavor, won't make you sick, and cost 4-5 bucks a pop.

I've heard good reviews on them. Pricey sticks. Famous sells 3 packs. Buy one and try 'em out.

Any Fuente Don Carlos.

Pick your size.

The Fuente Don Carlos is decent in that price range.

Another one I really like, and recently handed out to some friends when our third child was born... Padron Serie 1926 No. 6.  They're about $12.00 apiece, and extremely good.

Anything in the Padron K series (I like the 5000 nattie best)

Fuente Sun Grown (has a black band, not the green.  Cuban Belicoso is prolly the best of the lineup)

Both of these are great and can be had for about $5/stick.

I have and smoke both the Stretch and Barrel, excellent cigars, lots of complex flavor (leather, cocoa, expresso, cedar), even better than the Davidoff, but at close to $45 to $60 a smoke.
I would only recommend Zino Platinum to the most experience smokers instead of a newbie.

I like both Zino Platinum Crown and Scepter series cigars.  Rarely smoke one, but they are good smokes.  Crown series are expensive, about $28-35 each here, so I only buy them when there's some kind of deal to get them close to half price.  Zino Platinum Crown series cigars would be nice wedding smokes, but like leungken said, probably only an experienced cigar smoker would appreciate the smoke.
