| I'm pretty new to cigars and I've heard samplers are the best way to buy a few, I would like to try a few cigars from a couple offering brands if that's possible, all I'm seeing is usually 1 brand with a bunch of cigars? Now I don't need to have a couple brands so what's a good starting sample someone could reccomend? Thanks |

its like asking "what car should I buy?"
tell us what you like and what you dont like. Do you want to be kicked in the teeth? You like spice? mild? Do you like it flavors? oh... and how big is your humidor?
ETA: Also recommend jumping on cigarbid.com and snagging some stuff on the cheap to get your head under water feet wet sry bout your paycheck bro

Before you buy any samplers, I suggest you hit up your local B&M and grab a few singles to try out first.
That way you'll get a little bit of an idea of the strength and flavor profile that you like out of those and you'll be able to narrow down sampler choices much easier. |

Run over to CI and grab a Kitchen Sink or Motherloade samler.
Tons of variations there....mild, medium and strong. It will give you a great place to start but keep track of what you like and don't like. Them post what you like and then we will have a better guidline of which cliff to send you off of.... Echo |

Alright so you just started smoking.
Now you need to figure out what you like. But be aware, that your tastes may change. You may pick up a cigar and you think it's the best in the world, so you buy a box or a bundle and you think you'll enjoy it forever. But much like your first girlfriend, you decide that maybe there is more to life than that one cigar, and your tastes change. You come back to that cigar/girlfriend after you've sampled some other offerings and you find that it/she's bland, not complex or robust enough, perhaps more bitter than you imagined... but I digress. The best thing to do is to start with mild or medium cigars or easy brunettes. Then you move on to the more full flavored cigars and redheads once you can handle them. Try as many as you can. Get at least a big, clean tupperware, a humidifier jar or humidity packet, an empty cedar cigar box that you've carefully broke or cut into pieces and laid inside the tupperware (don't breath in the wood dust!) and fill it full of cigars from samplers like these: http://www.cigarsinternational.com/prodDisp.asp?item=SP-CIDD225&cat=6&page= http://www.cigarsinternational.com/prodDisp.asp?item=SP-CIDD226&cat=6&page= http://www.cigar.com/cigars/viewcigar.asp?prod=SP-CIGASST198 http://www.cigar.com/cigars/viewcigar.asp?prod=SP-CIGASST161 Write down everything you can think of when you're smoking. What you like and don't like, and keep track of it. I used to write on the back of the cigar bands and save them in a jar. Now I use a Android app to keep track. If you can share your notes with us and tell us what ones you like or don't like, we can get you into a nice sexy blonde with large breasts, I mean cigars with large breasts? Anyway, get smoking, don't smoke on an empty stomach, keep water and some sugar laden candy nearby. |

Oh and just because you see Gurka and 5 Vegas everywhere doesn't mean everybody loves them. All very good advice. I do enjoy a Vegas 5 gold when I have the time. Getting some sticks you enjoy just takes a little time and a few sample packs. The well equipped blonde is a taller order. I prefer darker wrappers with a little spice but stacked just as full. For cigars I mean. Yea that. |

Echo This is very good advise OP.... FWIW... What I further suggest is to get you a small spiral note pad. When you smoke one from the sampler glue into the spiral the cigar band, and write a few notes about it. Can be a simple 1 to 4 stars or a sentence or two. By keeping track of the bands this way it will help you define your taste since there are so many diferent brands and styles in these type mega samplers. Then you can further research the internet for further information. |

Hard to go wrong at the price. |
