So, its starting to get summer time again and this means going to start getting a hot and a increase in everyones electric bill. And for me personally I travel a lot for work, or when I am working locally I generally work from sun up to sun down. As a result, when I am not here I don't generaly run my , so to save on money. And by June and  August we are regularly seeing 100_deger days here, it will cost u a arm and a leg to cool your house when u are not even there.
So I was wondering if anyone had any ideas, on how I could keep the tempter down in my humidor?

I am currently saving for one of the BIG wine fridges, but C_bids, and suppersor kind of messed that up.

The big wine fridge is the only way I see around it.  If it helps temperature is to keep beetle eggs from hatching.  I'm in the same boat as you with the ac/electric bill.  During the summer time I move everything to an ice chest.  Was planning on getting a wine cooler before the heat got here but we all know how that goes.

Can you keep a coolerdor at your workplace (if it's air conditioned)?

Watch sites like overstock for deals.  I picked mine up from Target for around $129 I think they cleared them out for $99 a year later.

How much storage space do you need?  Vinotemps fill up quickly if you have odd sized boxes.

FIFY, its the ONLY way around it period. Also choose a cooler/darker area of the house to put it in. The fridge can only work so well.
Check Ebay. A couple years ago I picked up a scratch/dent Vinotemp for $49 shipped.

If you buy one off Ebay or another site make sure to check the return policy. I know a guy on an other site who got one with a bowling ball sized dent and his second had the door ripped off.

This is not a option for me, I do idpendet contract work so I do not have a office out side of my home.

This is what I have done, I have also put a fan in the room also.
I could do $49 all day long. Where did you find this at? Though the  thought of it coming in with the door RIPPED off makes me alittle nervus.

My cooling bill for last August was over $300, and thats with me keeping my house set on 82 during the day, and just running them when I was there at night.

Thatnks for the help and suggestions guys. I am pretty much open to trying anything.

Find a cooler that your humidor will fit in and put the humidor in the cooler.  If it is excessively hot for extended periods you could always put a little icepack in the cooler to keep the temp down.  Maybe this is a bad idea but I can't see why as long as the humidor is closed the humidity will stay the same and the cooler would hopefully moderate the temp.

Well, thats why they were $49. Most of them had big dents but no mechanical defects. Mine has a huge dent on the top which looks like another unit was dropped on top of it. I dont keep it out for public viewing anyways so I dont really care. It is a risk you take and for things like this they are sold w/o warranty. I dont even think mine came in the original box.

It was a seller on eBay who had a huge lot of them. I came across the deal on a cigar forum and several other members jumped in. I dont even remember the sellers name anymore.
