Does anyone have any experience with Trafficmaster Allure vinyl plank flooring sold by Home Depot? I want to replace my carpet and want something that the dogs won't scratch up. We though about hardwood flooring and laminate flooring also, but the plank vinyl looks like it would be more durable, easy to keep clean and easy to install. Thanks for any input.
It's easy to put down & once you get your rhythm going it goes down pretty fast but you have to be careful - if you leave a gap when you're sticking them together it is a bitch to get them apart without breaking them.
It is best to have all moldings removed instead of trying to slip them underneath, & it is better to have the room totally empty instead of trying to move furniture back and forth.
You need a smooth subfloor - if you lay it over rough concrete it will mold itself to all the lumps in the floor and you will feel them when walking barefoot.
It is easy to clean & my dog doesn't scratch it, but it can be scratched by furniture (Home Depot sells cups with felt bottoms for couches, & they have felt pads to stick to other furniture like TV stands).
