Basement shower install project.

Ended up buying a 42" three piece corner shower kit from Lowes.  The shower base will be installed over a poured concrete floor.  The issue at hand presently is how to level the base.  There is a drain in the floor (Fench Drain the correct term?) about 6' away from the corner of the shower, and the basement floor slopes to it.  In the slope over the 42" from the wall to the edge of the shower, the floor drops off about 1/2 to 3/4" toward the drain.   A bit much to mortar up with a knotched trowel.

I'm thinking that I would install the wall (the 2x4 on the floor will be glued and Tapcon screwed to the floor, and studded to that), then fill the inside of the bathroom (shower side) with self leveling concrete?  (using the 2x4 on the floor as a form)

That would work if you used some sand mix to support the pan on top of the self level

or

Just use a very healthy amount of sand mix and just push the pan down into it

Go ahead and draw level lines around the top of the pan on the walls so you already have reference lines

+1 on the sand mix.  I was amazed how easy it was and how well it worked.  Start with a level base, add about 1/2" of sand mix, push down firmly, check level in all directions.
