Started mowing this evening and got about 10 minutes into when the mower up and died. Kind of sputtered out like it was out of gas but it's not. When I tried to restart I got blueish white smoke puffing out of the exhaust. Has power, turns over fine, won't take off. I'm guessing the smoke is from gas hitting the hot exhaust? I'm thinking sparkplug right now. Engine has 200.9 hours on it now still on the original plug. So, what do you think? Spark plug a good place to start? Mower is a Cub Cadet 1515: Kohler 15 HP rider. Has plenty of oil and gas. |

It's getting gas into the carb, gas line from tank to fuel pump flows easily, fuel vapor and liquid fuel in carb after trying to start. Took the air filter off and it won't go so it's not about air. It started up briefly twice today, which at first made me think it was a clogged line, but now I think it's actually flooding. Friend is going to swing by tomorrow night. He thinks there's something sticking in the carb. We're going to take the bowl off the bottom and have a look. I tried out some different gas too just in case, no good. |
