Looking for mole solutions. Don't know what's going on but over the last week I've got moles all over my front yard. What actually works to get rid of them?

This stuff works really well from my experience. Use a narrow (like 1/4" dowel) to poke a hole in their tunnel, then drop in a wormy, then gently cover up the hole.

Bird dog works wonders.  My Pointer comes in with one every now and then and brags.

Poison, hose in tunnel hooked to a running engine, or CO2, or Propane. Smoke sticks.

I used something like this and it worked but took some time until i guess until they were hungry enough or came back in the tunnel  to eat the poisoned food.

Recently a stray friendly cat came to live at my place and it is killing tons of moles and mice and leaving them in my garage but I'm happy as hell to see them all dead.

I'll be giving these a try. Thanks folks. Keep em coming. I'm stupid allergic to cats but considered getting one I'm so pissed.

I wouldn't recommend an outside cat if you live in town. If you're rural, you won't find a better solution for vermin.  My grandpa had barn cats for years, but never replaced them as they died. When my mom took over the place, moles and mice were everywhere. She happened to find a bunch of cats in a box on the side of the road and brought them home. The moles are gone and the mice are about as under control as they can get.

I actually still have some rather old mole 'traps.'

You place them over the tunnel and when a mole goes past they drive a 'comb' of sharp spines into and across the tunnel and through the mole.

Looks like they are still available.

Search on 'mole traps.'

I get a couple a year with mole traps.

The poison may work and I use that too--but you never really know because you don't see a carcass

I adopted several hog nose snakes from the neighbors and releas d into my property, didn't see a gopher for 3 years.

Miles are tough but trapping, poison or pets have worked to keep their numbers down for me

Get a dermatologist to freeze them off

Seriously, they're such a tough menace to deal with, that there are propane devices made specifically to kill them.  You might have to farm this work out to a specialist

Get rid of the grubs they feed on. Put out some spring traps.

A friend of mine has had good luck with a Tomcat brand mole trap. They are yellow and black. I have had mixed results with my old school metal trap.

this. Get rid of the food source and they will go away.

put a granular bifenthrin down and it will kill the grubs and thus make your mole/voles go away

So far I've set traps. Nothing. Stomped on the tunnels. Nothing. Yesterday Inspread a full bag of spectracide insect killer that kills grubs and subterranean bugs. Hopefully that'll help. These bastards are driving my nuts.

Look for a product called Talpirid. They look like plastic worm fishing lures but are treated with a poison. You will not find them in a box store. Professional landscape supplier or online.
