I will be blowing out my sprinklers this fall and would like to buy a new compressor. I don't have a ton of room in my garage so I was thinking about getting a 30 gallon upright compressor. I would like one that uses oil rather than the noisy oil-less compressors. I would also like it to run on 120v. Any recommendations? |

I'd like to put about $500 on the compressor. If spending a bit more would get me a much nicer compressor I could see spending a few hundred more. If your willing to spend a couple hundred over your $500 dollar budget what about a Quincy 26 gallon single stage? One review mentions a cheaper air compressor that uses the same pump on a 29 gallon tank for a couple hundred less. He didn't mention any brand though

I had bought a Quincy at Lowes but it stopped working within a day. They replaced the pressure switch and then it would not hold air, so I refused to take it. My concern with the Ingersoll Garage mate is the 20 gallon tank being a little on the small side vs the Husky's 30 gallon tank. I also think the 30 gallon Porter Cable that Tractor Supply sells is the made at the same place the Husky is, but the Tractor Supply by me did not have any in stock. Waiting to see what others have to say about the Ingersoll Garage Mate. |
| It ended up costing $40 to have a guy come out and blow it out so I went that route. Reason being is I'm looking at getting a 60 gallon instead but it'll be a while since I need to rip out sheetrock and run a new 220 and I've already spent enough money on toys lately. |
