Need some help finding some parts for dad's older trimmer.  It's a FS62 R (curved shaft) and it seems the bearing that spindle turns in seized up (due to trimming wet grass) and snapped the driveshaft.
Stihl dealer says no parts available for it.
Anyone know of a used parts dealer?

We did buy him a $450 Stihl last spring and he's using that with blades for mowing ditch banks.  He said it was nice having 2 running so he didn't have to switch heads.

Or maybe there's a universal type driveshaft, maybe???

Ebay is your best bet.

Honestly trimmers are cheap and unless you can get the part for free or dirt cheap, its not worth the hassle. You can go buy a brand new trimmer for 200$. Comes with a warranty. Sell yours on ebay to help offset the price.

I'll run it by pops and see what he thinks.

But by looking at this, I may part it out and get a cheaper one to replace it.

Yep. Sometimes its best to move on. Buy a new one and part the old one out. But be careful and you might sit on parts for a while. Takes the right guy looking for that particular part at the right time.
