Hello All,

I recently pulled up the vinyl tile in my new house and am looking to install the tile with the wood grain texture to it.

I've watched  a couple videos and read a bit online about how to do it, but I wanted to see what you guys thought of the floor surface and if it was conducive to tiling.

Underneath the vinyl tiles is glue residue. Do I need to clean this up further before tiling??? Underneath the glue residue is a concrete slab.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Well it's to late to make sure the tile did not contain asbestos. Hopefully when you said new, that meant it was recently built.

Now to answer tour question. Yes you need to clean the glue off the concrete. You should use the proper substrate before you apply the tile.

The final answer is to go to the John Bridge Tile website and register. You will find all the Correct information on how to install tile. After reading this post and going to the John Bridge site never return to this post. Save yourself a lot of headache and ask your tile questions there.
