My older son has a 12v Power Wheels truck that he loves to tear around the yard in.  It has no lights though (none of the power wheels do).  So this is what I did this Saturday morning:

There is a switch I installed on the dashboard that turns all the lights on and off, the lights are wired into the 12v battery and do not run on their own power source.  The LEDs draw very little power so their is little effect on run time for the vehicle.  I may consider adding a few more lights up front or maybe a light bar, if I do then I will add an additional 6v to run all the lights.

Certainly not a small project but i'm hardly an electrician too!  I'm pretty pleased but my son is even more pleased!

What, no stereo?
You can also hop these up to go pretty fast if you have the room.
Good Job Pop!

I have been contemplating putting that on my son's power wheels. (He has the same one.) Would you happen to have more details about how you wired it in and what lights you used? How did you current limit the LEDs?
