So I've been in the new house for about 2 months now and the big annoyance so far is that in the bathroom.  When turning on the hot water in the sink, it seems to take about 2 mins to get luke warm water.  The bath tub which is about 3' away in terms of piping gets hot water in about 15-20 secs.  Any particular reason why the sink would take so much more time to get luke warm water vs hot water?

Is the sink a one or two knob type faucet?

Sounds like the water saver nozzle to me but don't really know. I would pull the end of the faucet off and check the screen.

I just unscrewed the end.  Bunch of black shit came out.  Possibly left over from when the new water heater was installed along with water softener.  The water now comes out a lot faster than before.  So thats at least a plus.  I'll have to wait an hour or so to do some testing.

It was a new sink/faucet installed when I moved in.

You check under the sink and make sure the hot water supply valve is turned on all the way?

Only thing I could think of.

Admittedly I immediately check this as well.  It was cranked open.
Edited to add the following.  So I haven't used the hot water in a bit.
From time turning on the hot water faucet the whole way, it took about 32 secs to get luke warm water. It took a total of 45 secs before it was hot.
So 45 secs from cold to hot.  Seems better than before. possibly that crap that flushed out might have had a little to do with it.  Though 45 secs still seems like a long time.  I realize that the tub would be faster since it's pushing out water faster.

I'd bet the faucet needs to be purged.  The hot side is probably partially plugged with sludge.  This is common after installation.  Do you have the directions for the sink?  Typically you turn the water off below, then remove the cartridge (or rubber washers in old types), then hold your hand over the faucet and turn the water part way on.  This allows the gunk to be flushed out.
