I was doing a routine check of my crawl space today and found this...

1- what is it?
2- why might it be leaking and wouldnt have before
3- how the hell do I stop it

ended up being the line for the icemaker....my brother in law surprised us with a new sink recently, but failed to turn off the valve. done and done

It looks like it maybe a drain line for a swamp cooler or air conditioner? My other guess would be a water line for the icemaker in your fridge that was not hooked up to the main line anymore. If it is a drain line, I don't think you would want to shut it off. I would imagine you could attach another section of copper tubing or even plastic tubing to it and then run it outside the house through a vent screen.

Can you trace it back to anything?

ETA:

What is above it in the house that it might have been connected to?
