| I , for years, have had our dryer in the garage vented directly outside because the "clothes take to long to dry" when the dryer ps inside the house hooked up in the laundry area. I am putting the house up for sale so I put the dryer back in the laundry area and sure enough "the clothes take to long to dry"/ This is a pain in my ass. I had a buddy run a direct vent outside through the attic but to no avail. I have cleaned the pipe inside the wall as best as I can. Any ideas? |

Make sure it gets air IN. If it's in a "laundry closet" (common in newer buildings) crack the doors enough that air can flow from the room, through the dryer picking up moisture and out the vent. A jet engine won't run if it's pressed up against a brick wall either. You gotta let it get plenty of air to draw through the unit. |

The length of the vent tube is about 8 ft up,,one ninety,,then twenty or so ft over to the exterior wall. I may very well have a "make up air" issue. Thanks guys. So almost 30 foot + 2 90s, yeah, thats part of your issue right there. Go buy a dryer vent cleaner [longer then the length of the vent] fire the dryer up on fluff and clean it out from the outside vent opening. |
