Saw a commercial for this on Tv one day and added it to Netflix.

Wasn't expecting much but the fights looked pretty cool.

It's almost like a mixed-fighting-style version of the Karate Kid.
Kid gets his ass beat because he's outskilled.
Kid gets mentored.
Kid learns skills to match rival.
Kid fights in tournament and wins.

Kid... TOTALLY looks like a young Tom Cruise. I mean this kid could play a younger version of Tom Cruise and be totally convincing.

The chick is hot... she looks like either Ann Kornikova or the other hot tennis chick.
The rival kid... looks like a few different people.

The black guy from Gladiator is the mentor.

It was actually a pretty cool movie. Some cool fighting in it.

I would actually recommend it... by no means a great movie but entertaining.

Isn't there some UFC fighter cameo's in that movie too?

Wow.... it only took one post to take this in a totally non-topic related direction. Good job morons.

I started with good intentions and you never got back to me, so the peanut gallery chimed in. FWIW, and to get back on track - my original question still stands.

I thought the Ryan McCarthy character's father might be a UFC fighter. But he's just a regular no-name actor.

Beyond that I'm not sure which ones in the movie might be "real" fighters. Most of the people in the movie were pretty much kids.
