Ok ARFCOM Film fanatics, I need some help with my latest project - MovieLandmarks. Its a Google Map mashup of movie filming locations with YouTube video and photos. We need contributors to register and add movies, landmarks and media. We've got about 250 movies right now with just 2 guys working on it in our spare time. The other thing I need some help/advice with is promotions. I'm a geek. A programmer by trade, and promoting and marketing things is a foreign concept to me. I come from the 'but its cool, shouldn't that be enough' school of geek marketers. If you've got any experience or ideas as to how to spread the word, I'd sure appreciate it. A good example of what we're trying to do with the site is the Blues Brothers landmarks -- we've got about 40 of them with screenshots, local pictures and video like for the bridge jumping scene. And of course we have a couple of Red Dawn locations  |
