So far a decent rendition of Kurosawa's Yojimbo starring Bruce Willis and Christopher Walken, but holy shit, I just counted over 50 rounds out of Willis' twin 1911s without reloading...  give me a fucking break...

I caught Last Man Standing on HDNET a few weeks ago in high definition, one of my favorite movies.   Yeah, Bruce has those magical 50 round mags, LOL.

I liked the scene where he's in the hotel room loading up 30 or 40 magazines though, he'd make a good ARFCOM'r

It would be interesting to know whether they did film the reloads but they were all edited out. In the movie Open Range for the final gun fight they did film all the reloads but some were cut in editing which resulted the very high capacity revolvers.

I think the reloads are inferred.

Do you recall the number of magazines he had loaded on the table??

There were at least a couple rows of them.

I always figured the gunplay in this movie was way over the top on purpose. It is just so well done that it doesn't matter. This is one of those movies that kind of plays tribute to the classic shootem up and the excessive gunplay works. Kind of like Desperado with Antonio Benderas.

I don't know..... "it will hurt if I kill you" followed by mythbuster style 40 foot blowback. I gave up after that.  The original remake is king (Fist Full of Dollars).
From IMDB:

This movie, like Per un pugno di dollari (1964), is a retelling of the story in Yojimbo (1961), which is itself based on Dashiell Hammett's novel "Red Harvest" from 1927.

I enjoyed the movie. It was straight up gangsta...

I like this movie too.  Saw it in the theater way back, and watch it on DVD, usually as a follow up to Way of the Gun.  It is over the top and unrealistic, but it is supposed to be.  And, I like Fist Full of Dollars and the original Yojimbo, so it's cool to see a 1930's gangster interpretation of the story.

I love the part when he is banging the hooker, and the guys come to kill him.  I mean...you got Bruce Willis charging down a hallway, with 2 1911's, NAKED!  The gangsters should have known right then that this is a man you do not fuck with...

You know what, they should remake it again as a modern gangster movie.
Dude cleans house int he ghetto or something.
That way you have four different eras covered by the same movie.

Wasn't Lucky Number Slevin also based on Yojimbo?  I read that somewhere, never saw it.
