It was released in 1985, year of Coke's reformulation.  I think the New Coke fiasco was that year, too.  That may have something to do with it.

spoiler question, what did each do to receive their detention?
Breakfast club famous quotes:
I'll start.
From memory, so it may not be 100% correct...
outcast guy to red head: You will get married, to a rich guy, stay at home, pop out a few puppies, and then get real fat!

Um, lets see if I can remember all this,

Jock (emilio estevez) is in detention because he taped someone's butt cheeks together

Bender (outcast, Judd Nelson) is there because he is ALWAYS there

Nerd Johnson (Michael Anthony Hall) is there...is there... damn

Ringwald for skipping school to go shopping or something?

and other outcast (Ally Sheedy) is there because she WANTS to be there, she wasn't assigned detention.

Quote:

VP "How would you feel if your dope was on fire?"

Bender "That's impossible sir, it's in Johnson's pants"

He's in detention cause he took a flare gun to school to commit suicide cause he's failing shop class.  His lamp didn't work.  Flare gun went off in his locker IIRC

I Love that movie.  So does my youngest son (12 yrs).  We bought the DVD and it's damn near worn out.

That was a good movie.  One of many John Hughes movies that I like.

Ever heard the Billy Idol version of the main song? I guess he was suppose to do it or something. Its the same song. I wonder if it was already written that way beat and all. I would think if you were to do it and didnt get the deal you wouldnt make it the same way later.

that one site I think has the info fastrewind.com or something like that.
