Here are what the Romanians stated as being used in the film...they are suing now. "These people are poor and they were tricked by people more intelligent than us," he said. "They took one of our 75-year-old ladies, put huge silicone breasts on her and said she was 47. Another man they filmed to look like the poorest person in the world, and one of our men who is missing an arm had a plastic sex toy taped to his stump." Now that last part- I laughed my ass off, hell I might just have to see it before it gets pulled. |

Some college kids are suing also over him supposedly getting them drunk, having them sign releases then getting them to say racist stuff (or somesuch) The funny thing is, the first director on the Borat movie got in trouble for the same thing on his first film about fraternities and he admitted he did exactly that. www.usatoday.com/life/movies/news/2006-11-13-borat-fallout_x.htm |

I heard about that part yesterday while listening to talk radio an almost ran off the road laughing so hard. Apparently, "Borat met up w' an elderly gentleman w/ only 1 arm. He told the guy, "I'm going to America. They have the best doctors in the world, so I'll bring you back a new arm". Well, when "Borat" came back to the village he duct taped a 2' long dildo w/ a rubber fist on the end to the fellows stump.  I'm still laughing today.

I have not yet seen the movie, but everything I have seen or heard leads me to believe it will be a Michael Moore-esque hatchet job making buffons out of people whos only failing is to be too tolerant and naieve when dealing with an asshole film-maker with an axe to grind. Sasha Baron Cohen isn't balsy enough to front his elitist anti-american agenda as a documentary like Michael Moore did, he's thinly disguised it as a comedy. Of course, the reviewers all love it. "Bowling for Borat." Just great. If I wanted to sit through a feature film on urine drinking and poo-jokes, I'd see Jackass; at least those guys are brave enough to make themselves the butt of the joke. |
