Every great action movie has a great villain.  Here are a few of my all-time favorites...

Goldfinger/Oddjob

The greatest Bond villain ever.  His plan for Fort Knox was superior even to Fleming's original novel plot.  Goldfinger is a superior strategist to Bond while Oddjob is physically more formidible.  This forces Bond to use his wits against Oddjob and use deadly force to take down Goldfinger.  Their cat and mouse games - the gin game, the painted lady, the golf wager, the laser - are all legendary.

Darth Vader

Come on, the penultimate serial baddy with larynx crushing, Faustian goodness.  I'm sure even Saddam has asked himself WWDVD (What Would Darth Vader Do?) from time to time.

Dr. Hannibal Lecter

I'm referring here to the Hannibal of The Silence of the Lambs.  His cool, precise, manipulatively brilliant evil as he strings along Starling and of course his monstrous escape are unforgettable.

Hans Gruber

Right up there with Goldfinger as a criminal mastermind.  His audacity, ruthlessness and genius at plotting the perfect crime in Die Hard are awesome.  There's no way the John McClane from the start of the film could of defeated him, but by the end the initiative has swung.

The Kurgan

"There can be only ONE!"

I don't know about the all time best ,but I liked the way he always played his part.

Drexl from True Romance.

He was just absurd and a complete lowlife bastard.

Col. Jack T. Ripper

A psychopath in command of a B-52 wing.  Scary enough?

That bitch from Misery

Man, I really cheered when he killed her.

Although I know he's supposed to be a villain, I liked Gordon Gecko a lot.

Ruthless cold-blooded a-hole from hell, and Wall Street types call Douglas's depiction of leveraged buy-out capitalists naive and laughable, because apparently he has too many redeeming qualities.

The actor who played odd job was an Olympic silver medalist in Judo, btw.
Darth Vader wins, but I was always partial to Roy

Special Agent Norman Stansfield, DEA

I like these calm little moments before the storm. It reminds me of Beethoven. Can you hear it? It's like when you put your head to the grass and you can hear the growin' and you can hear the insects. Do you like Beethoven?

Man you guys stole mine, I was gonna do Gary Oldman's character in Leon as well.

He also made a good villain in Air Force One.

Hyman Roth from GF2 was a good villain.  Longshanks from Braveheart.  Smith from Matrix.    T1000 from T2.

Not really a favorite, and certainly not to the same standard as some of the over BGs.  But I enjoyed watching John Travolta play the bad guy in Broken Arrow.  It was a departure from his normal character.  Same goes for Face Off.

A couple more:

Henry Fonda's "Frank" character from "Once Upon a Time in the West"

Drakken, from Kim Possible: "A scorned woman!  The perfect weapon!"

Oh shit.  I just watched that several months ago on Skinemax.  Not exactly the type of skin I was looking for, but what the hell, ya know?

I guess I didn't recognize GQ Gandhi in the Armani suit.  I only remembered Gandhi from his later toga days.

• El Guapo from Three Amigos!

• Cobb (Brian Dennehy) from Silverado

• President Skroob (Mel Brooks again) and Dark Helmet (Rick Moranis) from Spaceballs..... hell, why not throw in Pizza the Hutt (Dom DeLuise) while we're at it?

• Mr. Blonde (Michael Madsen) from Reservoir Dogs

I know I'm missing a bunch, but just thought I'd throw out some characters that a lot of ppl probably wouldn't think of right off the bat.

Dr. Evil: "We're not so different, you and I....."

He forced us to look into the blackness within ourselves and admit our similarities.

Also, Mini Me wasn't the perfect project that he was billed as (smaller version of Dr. Evil, with all the evil concentrated).  He was all the evil, concentrated, but without any of the compassion or remorse that always prevented Dr. Evil from true success.

T-800 (The Terminator)

Do you mean the Cyberdyne Systems Model 101(Terminator), the T-1000 (T2), or the TX (T3)?

The only other Terminator model mentioned was the 600-series which never made an appearance in any of the movies and were catagorized as "easy to spot" by Reece because they had rubber skin.
