Watched it last night (DVD)and my money would have been better spent on more ammo! Jarhead is Hollyweird hates Bush and the military.  What a waste of time. Worst movie I have seen for a while. Took alot doing just to watch the whole thing.
 What say you.

I didn't have to watch it to know I don't want to see a story about gay Marines.

You're from Texas and you SAW the movie?

Turn in your belt buckle and move to Austin.

PS: I got the city right, didn't I?  It's been a while since I could get on for more than a few hours per week.

I enjoyed it.  But I'm a big fan of Peter Saarsgard.

I liked it.

The movie had soem great images of the oil fires and the frustration that trained Marines felt feeling their roles overtaken by technology.

I moved to Austin 10 years ago!

I can't see how anyone could think this movie was even OK. Poorly written, boredom with no payoff, unrealistic (overall), and liberal, military hating undertone. I get pissed just thinking about my wasted 2 hours.

I watched it once.  Never again.

I decided on my on that it was just dude wanting to be a crybaby/whiner.

Biggest problem with it was I felt it marginalized the efforts of a whole bunch of combat troops.

+1 and I also dislike all the Jake Gyllenhall bashing that goes on here, just because of the damn gay coybows eating pudding movie. I think he is a fairly good actor.

I thought it was very well done film, but I didn't go in expecting a traditional shoot 'em up war flick.

If I recall correctly and to use a line from the movie it was "teh suck".

Screwed for $3 on the rental and was embarassed to watch it with my father. A REAL war veteran. You want cool pictures from what really went on there are much better sources than that trash. I've got video from friends that were actually there that tells a better story than garbage.
